Daily Ordo

Affiliate disclosure

Daily Ordo participates in two affiliate programs that allow us to earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you, when readers purchase products through links placed on this site. This page explains how the affiliate links work, what we recommend, and how you can read the site without ever clicking an affiliate link if you prefer.

Our partners

Hallow

Hallow is a Catholic prayer and meditation app that offers audio-guided Rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet, novenas, the Liturgy of the Hours, and daily Scripture reflection in the Catholic tradition. Hallow's content is led by Catholic priests and laity, including Fr Mike Schmitz, Jonathan Roumie, Fr Josh Johnson, and many others. We recommend Hallow for the audio-guided forms of the Catholic prayers we treat on this site, particularly for readers who prefer to pray with their phone or while walking, driving, or working.

We participate in Hallow's affiliate program. When a reader signs up for Hallow through one of our links, we receive a commission of 12% of the subscription value. The reader pays the standard Hallow price; the commission is paid by Hallow, not by the reader.

Catholic Company

Catholic Company is the United States' largest Catholic retailer of devotional sacramentals: rosaries, medals, scapulars, statues, holy cards, books, and Bibles. The company has been in operation since 2002 and is privately owned by a Catholic family in Tennessee. We recommend Catholic Company products that align with the devotions we treat on this site (the Miraculous Medal, the Brown Scapular, traditional rosaries, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the writings of the saints, and others).

We participate in Catholic Company's affiliate program. When a reader makes a qualifying purchase through one of our links, we receive a commission of 8% of the order value. The reader pays the standard Catholic Company price; the commission is paid by Catholic Company, not by the reader.

How affiliate links are marked

Every affiliate link on this site is marked with the HTML attribute rel="nofollow sponsored", in keeping with Google's webmaster guidelines for paid placements. Sections of the site that contain affiliate links (the "Recommended for this devotion" boxes at the foot of novena, prayer, and saint pages) include an inline disclosure with a link to this page.

No editorial content on the site is hidden behind an affiliate requirement. The novenas, prayers, saint biographies, and educational material are freely available without clicking any affiliate link or making any purchase. The affiliate placements are gathered into the "Recommended for this devotion" sections, which can be skipped by readers who do not wish to engage with them.

How we choose what to recommend

The products in our affiliate catalog are chosen on three criteria:

We do not recommend products principally because they pay a high commission, and we do not recommend products that conflict with Catholic doctrine or practice. We do not accept paid placement of products outside the affiliate programs above.

What we do with the commissions

Affiliate commissions support the operation of Daily Ordo: the domain registration, hosting, email service, and the time of the editorial team. We do not currently solicit donations and have no plans to introduce a paywall. The affiliate commissions are the principal means by which the site is sustained.

Your alternatives

Readers who prefer not to use affiliate links have several alternatives. You can navigate directly to hallow.com or catholiccompany.com without going through our links. You can purchase Catholic sacramentals from your local parish gift shop or diocesan supply store. You can borrow Catholic spiritual books from the Catholic diocesan or seminary library nearest to you. The Catholic faith does not require any commercial purchase; the prayer and the sacraments are freely given.
