Day 8: The building of the shrine

Day 8 attends to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes, which the Blessed Virgin Mary asked Bernadette to have built.

The Marian shrine

From a small grotto in 1858 to the largest Marian pilgrimage center in France today, Lourdes has been built up by Catholic devotion across 167 years. Approximately six million pilgrims visit annually.

Prayer

Mary of Lourdes, watch over the shrine and the pilgrims who come to it. May I be among them, in body or in spirit. Amen.
