Day 9: Final perseverance and Divine Mercy at the hour of death
The ninth and final day of the novena, on the eve of Saint Faustina's feast on October 5, asks the grace of final perseverance and of Divine Mercy at the hour of death.
Mercy at death
Christ told Saint Faustina that the greatest of His promises to those who venerate Divine Mercy concerns the hour of their death: He Himself will defend them as His own glory before the just judgment of God. The Catholic petitioner who has prayed the chaplet faithfully, lived the works of mercy, and trusted in the merciful Heart, has nothing to fear.
Prayer
Saint Faustina, you who entered the merciful Heart of Christ at your death, intercede for me at the hour of my own. May I die with the chaplet in my hands and the cry "Jesus, I trust in You" on my lips. May Divine Mercy receive me into eternal life. Amen.
Conclude with one Our Father, one Hail Mary, and one Glory Be. The novena is now complete.
