Day 1: Total Consecration to the Immaculata

The first day inaugurates the novena with the heart of Saint Maximilian's spirituality: total consecration to the Immaculate Virgin Mary.

Total consecration

Saint Maximilian taught that by total consecration to Mary, the soul gives the Blessed Virgin permission to use it as she will for the salvation of souls. The act of consecration is the surrender of self into Marian hands, in the certainty that those hands always lead to her Son.

"Let us allow the Immaculata to lead us. Let us be the small tools in her hands, that she may use us for the salvation of souls."

Prayer

Immaculate Mary, I consecrate myself to you today, body and soul, life and possessions. Use me as you will for the glory of God and the salvation of souls. Make me your instrument. Amen.
