Day 4: The Eucharist and Mary

The fourth day attends to the union of Eucharistic and Marian devotion in Saint Maximilian's spirituality.

Mary as gift through the Eucharist

Saint Maximilian taught that the Blessed Virgin Mary is most closely encountered in the Catholic Eucharist: the Body she gave to the Word in the Annunciation is the same Body received at every Catholic Mass. To love the Eucharist is to honor Mary; to honor Mary is to be drawn to the Eucharist.

Prayer

O Lord Jesus, present in every Catholic tabernacle, I unite my devotion to You with the devotion of Your Mother. As she gave You human nature in her womb, so receive me into Your Eucharistic presence. Amen.
