The Saint Faustina Novena

Day 5: The Hour of Mercy (3 p.m.)

The fifth day attends to the Catholic devotion of the Hour of Mercy, which Saint Faustina received from Christ as the hour when His Passion was most powerful.

Three o'clock

Christ told Saint Faustina that at 3:00 p.m. each day, the hour when He died on the Cross, He pours out particular graces on the soul that turns to Him in prayer. The traditional Catholic practice is to pause at 3:00 p.m. for a brief meditation on the Crucifixion and a prayer for mercy.

Prayer

Saint Faustina, who marked your daily life with the Hour of Mercy, teach me the same. At three o'clock today, may I pause, recall the Cross, and entrust my own needs and those of the world to the Sacred Heart. Amen.

Conclude with one Our Father, one Hail Mary, and one Glory Be.
