Day 5: Entry to the Augustinian convent

Day 5 attends to Rita's miraculous admission to the Augustinian convent at Cascia.

Late vocation

Rita applied to the Augustinian convent and was refused three times, because the convent had a rule against admitting widows. According to tradition, Saint John the Baptist, Saint Augustine, and Saint Nicholas of Tolentino appeared to Rita and miraculously transported her inside the locked convent. The community recognized this as a divine sign and admitted her.

Saint Rita, intercede for those whose Catholic vocation seems impossible. Open doors that are closed. Amen.
