Day 5 brings the principal petition of the Lourdes devotion: healing.

Healing in its proper Catholic sense

The Catholic Church teaches that physical healings at Lourdes are signs, not guarantees. The deeper Lourdes healing is always spiritual: the conversion of the heart, the grace of perseverance, the consolation of suffering offered in union with Christ.

Prayer

Mary of Lourdes, obtain for me the healing the Lord wills, whether of body or of soul. Amen.
